HI all !!

I'm Heborik, an officer of the guild "Cult of the Northstar", and currently the Architect progressing the building of our PvE City (Cash permitting :P)

As we now share a PvE City instance, I thought I would come over and introduce myself and our guild to you.

Utlimately I'm hoping we can develop a relationship with you guys, and develop a non-agression/mutual assistance pact for when we all venture into the Border Kingdoms :D

The Cult of the Northstar is the AoC arm of the larger guild "Northstar Alliance" - www.northstar-alliance.net. Like you guys we played SWG which was the game the guild was founded on, and we recently celebrated our 6th anniversary :) - we have all played many games together including SWG, COH, EQ2, L2, WoW, Horizons. Currently we have about 200 general members, most of which play WoW, and a membership of around 50-60 in AoC !! We also hold annual Real Life Meets, last years was in Sweeden, and this year we will be in the UK

I'm really hoping our two guilds (plus the other in our instance too) can work together to conquer our local border kingdoms. If the three of us could each capture and hold a Battelkeep in our BK and come to each others defence when required, that would be just awesome...

Hi Guys...

An update from your neighbours...

We are completing our T1 city this week, including all wall & towers :) - T2 will follow as soon as I can get up to level 60 to train T2 architecture...

Also we had our first skirmish in the BK against our other neighbours Sempa the other night... We got our arses handed to us... :D

I am now the CotN guild leader, as our previous GL had to be a bit innactive due to RL stuff - so feel free to get in touch with me if you want to chat about anything... it would be good to get some BK events with/against you guys set up... :) - I'm hoping perhaps we can arange weekly skirmish battles against you guys and agree 3v3, 6v6 or 20v20 battles ^^

Reason you have not heard from us is most likely that our Age of Conan guild is a small one, and not as active as it once was. There's a few of us hanging on still, though :)

Yeah, our numbers have dwindled somewhat as people get fed up with the bugs etc.. but we still have a good solid core of regular players....

Are you guys looking to recruit, or fold, or merge with another guild or something ?? - if so, let's have a chat, your guild seems very similar to ours in it's approach etc, so I'm sure you would fit in with us if you do choose to merge/join another guild?

Ah, so it's you guys who have this massive guild city in the north-west?

Indeed we do.. the NW city is ours...

We have every wall section up except 2 pieces that will be completed Tuesday Night...

I know we could have progressed the city to T2 faster by not doing all the wall sections, but for us it's not a race, more having a quality looking and feeling city to play with (not that there is much to do there yet :P)

I hear NPC guards should be patched in in the next few weeks... also they are changing the random spawns of mobs in the building zonses to fixed dynamic spawns.. Hopefully this means we will see NPC attacks against our cities soon !!!! (And then all those who have forgon the walls will suffer !!! :) *Manic Laughter*

Also..

We had a group outing to our local BK the other night..

There were 6 of us of various levels from 79 down to 43 (average level of 60 i'd say)

We got our arses handed to us a few times by 3 Sempa members (78,79 & 80) - we suffered badly as we had no ranged power with us :(

Revenge will be sweet !!!!

The Sempa chaps were actually really nice, and after about 30 mins fo fighting them we struck up a conversation with them.. They have a BK there, and we were aparently the FIRST time they had come across anyone else in the BK.. I think RK and ourselves should make their harassment a regular occurance :)

I was in BK the other night, after some duels with some Enigma folk I teamed up with them versus Titans and some others. Was fun, albeit didn't last so long. Oh, and Enigma have a keep there as well.

About a merge, still haven't gotten everyone's opinion, but I think we will not merge at this time. However, an alliance would be in everyone's interest I'm sure. It's just a shame we can't even make a custom chat channel ingame for our alliance (like you can in other MMO's, say LOTRO), so communication will have go through tells and forums etc, for now.

Funcom really needs to get their asses into gear and bring us the PvP update, and along with it the Kingship system and an update to the chat UI. Hopefully this will bring back some inactive members in RK as well.

I couldn't register on your forums for some reason (I'm probably dumb, and can't find the button/link :)). What are your members level-range, are you guys interested in raids, or only PvP? I think RK would be interested in grouping up for instances and raids as well. We have some lvl70-80, but most are from 50-70 I'd say.

I have added you to my friendslist and will send you a tell ingame at some point :)

Great to hear we could team up for instances and things... we have a few level 80 chaps at the moment who are kicking their heels :) and like you guys, most are 50-70 range so our two guilds should be a good fit...

Perhaps we should look into setting up a mutual message board somewhere that we could co-ordinate groups on ?? - i'll look into this and let you know...

I'll next be online possibly Wednesday from 5pm GMT for a couple of hours, or Thursday 5-9ish GMT - Currently 55 and trying to get to 60 ASAP so we can do our T2 keep (I'm the Architect too :P )

Sorry for the Forum spam :) - hehe and my guild wonders how I have over 8,500 posts on our boards :P

Anyway to answer your question about what we do... We are probably slightly more PvE orientated than PvP but we certainly have members interested in both, and have the ultimate goal of taking over our own Battle Keep one day (in the far off future ^^)

In WoW we were ranked 16th on our server for raid progress, and had many PvP'ers too.. 16th was a great achievement for a guild that has no real gear/attendance requirements and doesnt use DKP etc... a testiment to our players I believe :)

Anyway.. upshot is we would be interested in all grouping activites from 5-man dungeon/quest groups to full on 24-man PvE raids and PvP sieges with you guys....

Hail Heborik,

Sorry for not replying back to you earlier, but I had to wait untill I had gotten an answer from most of our members.

After discussing this over with our guild, we will not be joining Cult of the Northstar I'm afraid. There are very few of us that are active left (less than 10), and an alliance is hard to maintain with no tools to aid us ingame. The Kingship system could alleviate this, but who knows when it is coming, and to not lose anymore players we have to act now.

We have been in talks with Scions of Nordheim about a merge. Some of us attended some raids with them, and thus we know them a little better now. In all likelyhood we will be merging with them, as they only needed a few more to fill out their raid roster. They also have several more casual players so that our own less active members will have people to group up with.

I'm sorry this didn't work out, but the situation in RK demanded us joining a guild of a certain size.

Will see you in Border Kingdoms (make sure you sign up to attack Scions of Nordheim's battlekeep at some point :D), if you see me don't hesitate to attack! ;)
