My initial online gaming experience comes from the FPS Genre, where I was heavily involved in the BF1942 community, being a staff member of the online community for PunksBusted, and also a senior founding member of a BF42 clan which competed in the OGL, TWL, and CAL leagues, ending up with me trying to set up a full european league for CAL before real life got the better of me.
Since then I've been playing Guild Wars almost exclusively for nigh on three years as part of the guild KINDREDSPIRITS, a small but social group of people from around europe who just want to have fun and play the game with minimum of fuss as and when they have the time.
I tried out Hellgate:London on release and ran a couple of characters through to the end, but the game lost me rather quickly for all the usual reasons associated with it.
Recently, I have tried to convince some of my fellow [KiN] guild mates to try out AoC to no avail, or those that have given it a try are all state side, and to date I've been going it alone in AoC having reached lvl32. I even created the guild in AoC, but if accepted here will delete the guild as no-one else has shown any interest in the game over at [KiN].
Solo play is all well and good to a point, but I'm missing the social aspect of the game, and am fully familiar with both Peamspeak and Ventrilo having set up many a server for both in my time.
As I said above, I'm 34, so what you might call an "older gamer", have a professional career which can mean working some odd, and occassionally long hours to pay the bills.
And all that leads me to be here today, looking for a like minded guild, who appreciate the constraints that real life can have on gaming time, and simply want to play a game they enjoy with no grief......your introduction thread seems to fit the bill nicely, and as such I would like to apply for membership, if you'll have me.
